TikToker Kizzy and Dancehall artiste KipRich said their final goodbye to their daughter, Miracle. The newborn was laid to rest in a tiny white coffin at a private funeral service that was filmed and shared by the grieving couple on Sunday.
Kizzy, legally named Danielle Banton, and KipRich, Marlon Jaro Plunkett, are still in Colombia, and they held the intimate ceremony in the South American country just days after her passing was confirmed. Reports say that Miracle, who was born prematurely, died during treatment shortly after being airlifted to a different hospital in Colombia.
On YouTube, a vlog over 13 minutes long captured the final moments the teary-eyed couple spent with Miracle. During the footage, KipRich performed heartfelt renditions of Goodness of God and Amazing Grace over the small casket placed at the centre of the room.
While openly mourning his daughter, he found strength in his convictions. He shared that though his heart is broken, he is sustained by the belief that God never assigns a burden too heavy to carry, and even in tragedy, there is a divine plan at work.
“You will forever be in our hearts. The Lord knows best… the Lord always has a better plan,” the entertainer said during the service.
Kizzy was initially seated, but she joined KipRich as he sang to their newborn. She broke into tears multiple times during the ceremony. She said that since her daughter’s birth, she has a different outlook on life, and she is now reborn. “This is not the end; this is the beginning, the rebirth of your mom,” she said.
Kizzy gave birth to Miracle six months and one week into her pregnancy during her visit to Colombia with KipRich, who went for a stage show. Miracle’s premature birth led to her being placed in intensive care. The parents launched a GoFund me compaign to raise millions to have her airlifted to the United States for specialised medical treatment.
During that time, she battled medical complications for about two weeks and died not long after she was airlifted to another Colombian hospital for continued treatment. Since the service, Kiprich and Kizzy Donn have not shared details about their plans to return to Jamaica.
