Renowned reggae artiste Koffee is no longer signed with American record label RCA Records. The Jamaican singer has been dropped by the record label after being signed to them for over four years. This huge change in her career comes amid her years-long hiatus, as she has been absent from the media with no music being released.
The news of her being removed from the label was broken by World Music Views, which reported that sources from the U.S. company confirmed it. Koffee emerged on the music scene as a teenage girl with remarkable talent. Her musical prowess earned her a Grammy award for Best Reggae Album with Rapture in 2020. She made history as the youngest female artiste to win in the category.
After Koffee’s Grammy victory, RCA Records partnered with her, resulting in her signing to the label in 2020. Koffee was originally signed with Columbia Records U.K.
Her partnership with RCA, which Sony Music Entertainment owns, marked a huge step in taking her brand globally. Before signing, her audiences were primarily in Jamaica and the United Kingdom.
RCA co-president John Fleckenstein praised the Toast hit singer when she was signed to the label. Fleckenstein acknowledged that she is a promising artiste with the potential to become a global success. According to World Music Views, the label has also removed Koffee from its roster of signed artistes. The roster still included dancehall artiste Skillibeng, who signed with RCA in 2021.
Koffee quickly soared to stardom with her hit song Toast. In 2019, the song amassed more than 50 million on-demand streams in the United States. The infectious single was endorsed by R&B superstar Rihanna and also former U.S. President Barack Obama.
The song surpassed 191 million streams on Spotify as of March 2025. Koffee now has over 500 million career streams on Spotify. Her highest-streaming single, W, featuring rapper Gunna, has 77 million streams.
