Several hours after walking out of a Los Angeles lockup, Lil Nas X took to social media to reassure his fans. Many have been concerned about his mental health and well-being following his arrest.
The rapper was taken into custody after being found naked on Ventura Boulevard last week. He has since been hit with four felony charges, including assault on police officers, after a late-night escapade that ended with him reportedly charging at officers stark naked on the street.
On Instagram, he shared that he is holding up despite what he called a terrifying experience. In a short selfie video posted to his Instagram Story, the “Old Town Road” hitmaker spoke directly to the camera, saying, “Your girl is going to be OK … she’s going to be alright.” He admitted that the ordeal, from the arrest to spending time in jail and appearing in court, had been “f**king terrifying” but insisted that he would get through it.

The video quickly went viral, with fans and critics flooding social media with comments. Many expressed support for the rapper, while others questioned his choice of words and his mental state. One user wrote, “I STAND WITH LIL NAS!” while another countered, “He’s not well.” Others poked fun at his reference to himself as “your girl,” with comments such as, “What girl? Where?” and “Ya girl????” filling up threads.
Despite the backlash, there were still plenty of voices urging compassion. “@lilnasx we love you! Be strong,” one fan commented, while another noted, “Literally worried about this person’s health while y’all are stuck on gender jokes.”
Nas posted the message just after being released on $75,000 bail, following his not guilty plea earlier this week. While his legal troubles are far from over, he is clearly trying to stay positive and connected to his fan base.
