A 14-year-old girl from Tennessee was abandoned in the woods for several days during the Christmas holiday after a man had sex with her in a tent. A report detailed that the underage teen met a 28-year-old man named Alexander Materne through a video game.
It is alleged that the man was initially unaware of the girl’s age when he used her for sex. According to the report, citing a press release from the sheriff’s office, Materne learnt the girl was a minor while in the woods and ditched her upon knowing.
The report stated Materne and the 14-year-old girl met face-to-face on December 23. According to the New York Post, citing a report from St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, Materne took the girl from her home and carried her to his house in Louisiana. They subsequently engaged in sexual acts, and the girl revealed her age.
Materne reportedly reacted by packing a tent, food, and water. He then brought the girl into the wooded area of the Tangipahoa Parish in Louisiana and left her there to celebrate Christmas with his family.
Meanwhile, the girl’s family grew concerned about her being missing and discovered that she was involved with Materne. The 14-year-old girl’s family contacted relatives of Materne, and the police were informed. This led to the police crashing his family’s Christmas celebration and forcing Materne to confess what happened to the girl.
The authorities discovered the little girl in good health at the tent, and she was taken to the hospital for examination. Materne was arrested and charged with one count of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile and one count of Aggravated Kidnapping of a Child.
