Well-known Jamaican entertainer MC Nuffy has been garnering criticism for his performance at Vybz Kartel’s concert in Tortola, British Virgin Islands. At the highly anticipated event, titled Vybz Kartel & Friends, on Saturday, patrons were treated to performances from the dancehall icon and other artists like Skillibeng and Jah Vinci.
Popular entertainer Andre ‘MC Nuffy’ Nelson also performed alongside Vybz Kartel and Jah Vinci, but his role on stage left many puzzled. Following the event, clips of MC Nuffy’s performance quickly started circulating on social media. In the footage, he can be seen energetically hyping up the deejay’s set by babbling over a microphone.
The promoter was very active on the stage, running and stomping while he shouted incoherent words and made various sounds over the microphone. At one point, when his voice continued to clash with Vybz Kartel’s, the artiste stopped deejaying and glanced at him.
Social media users have been mocking MC Nuffy’s theatrics, with many deeming his performance as unnecessary. Some viewers also indicated that they believed Vybz Kartel was not pleased with his performance based on his facial expression. Some viewers expressed that he was being noisy, and he was negatively impacting the show.

Amid the criticism, promoter Skatta Burrell sought to clarify the misunderstanding regarding MC Nuffy’s set. Under a post where viewers flooded the comments with criticisms, Skatta left a comment expressing that MC Nuffy’s antics excited the audience and made them cheer, which he said was not captured in the video.
He said that it was definitely a “vibe” that you would have to experience firsthand. “It was a vibe You had to be there to appreciate it. Cant hear the noice from the audience so I understand why folks viewing the clip will think it’s annoying however it was far from. 1 @mc.nuffy ,” he said.

He received multiple responses, which accused him of lying and pointed out Vybz Kartel’s unimpressed expression in the video. The popular MC responded to the criticism in an Instagram post indicating that regardless he made the show go viral. “Viral a viral bad MCee a Bad MCee let them keep talking.”
