A 26-year-old McDonald’s worker reportedly stabbed her coworker to death following a dispute involving her being repeatedly sent home. The attack occurred at the restaurant’s Detroit location, where 39-year-old Jennifer Harris reportedly worked for over 10 years and held the position of manager.
Harris, a mother of six, died from multiple stab wounds after her colleague allegedly returned to the restaurant armed with a knife after being sent home earlier that day. Before the fatal incident, the suspect had also vented her frustration on a live recording.
In the recording, the suspect expressed her anger over being consistently dismissed early from her shifts. She accused Harris of bullying her coworkers and claimed that Harris twice denied her the opportunity to earn her full hours, despite her even showing up on her day off to make up time.
“She has no respect…she is playing games,” the suspect said in the video. “She is a bully…she brings a lot of negative energy in there.” The accused also alleged that Harris made inappropriate racial comments and treated staff like children. “she can keep being a bully if she want to but that shit is going to catch up to her cause it ain’t funny at all,” she continued.

After the live stream, the suspect reportedly returned to the McDonald’s with a knife and confronted Harris. Police say the confrontation escalated, and Harris was stabbed multiple times. A customer inside the restaurant, who was legally armed, fired a warning shot to stop the suspect from fleeing and helped detain her until police arrived.
Harris’s daughter, Antonia Griffin, shared a heartbreaking tribute, saying, “My mama died trying to take care of us.” She was described as a dedicated and caring mother who raised her children as a single parent.
Eastpointe Police confirmed the suspect remains in police custody, and the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office is currently reviewing the charges as the investigation continues.
