A Jamaican woman on TikTok, known as @librabadnesssabbieslim, has sparked widespread attention after posting emotional videos claiming she and her young son were cast out of their family home in the middle of Hurricane Melissa. The videos, which circulated across the platform, show the woman, known as Abbie, walking in light rain at night with her child wrapped in a blanket.
In one video, Abbie can be heard crying and saying, “dem put mi out inna di storm, mi and mi baby.” Her voice shook as she expressed fear and distress, while her child appeared to be in tears. She also claimed that her life was in danger, stating that “everyone wah kill me,” a comment viewers believe was directed at family. Abbie tagged her mother in the caption, referring to her as “wicked”.
Abbie’s mother responded publicly in the comments, calling her out as a liar. According to her mother, Abbie was the aggressor, and the decision to put her outside was to stop a physical altercation in the home involving Abbie and her two brothers. She wrote, “she is a wicked girl a me a the mother how wood I do that but god a god girl a fite she want fite r two brothers in the house and I put r out side an lock my son in side to stop the fite.” The mother further claimed that Abbie took her child and left on her own, insisting her daughter is “mad” and in need of prayer.

Abbie later went live on TikTok to deny her mother’s version of events. She said she has been bullied by her relatives for years and that what happened during the storm was the final breaking point. She claimed her mother told her directly to leave the house, even after knowing the storm was approaching. According to Abbie, she only received a blanket to cover her son’s head before being forced out. She also alleged that her brother chased her with a knife, which forced her to defend herself.
During the livestream, Abbie said she plans to sever ties with her family entirely. She also accused them of sabotaging her poultry business by killing 100 of her chickens, stating that jealousy and “badmind” motivated their actions. The full circumstances of both incidents remain unclear.
