Since early January, sections of California have been burning in several wildfires. The horrible fires resulted in thousands of acres being burnt, destroying many homes and business places. At least 25 people have died in the raging flames that have been ongoing for weeks. Now, a different area in California is turning into an inferno.
A news report shared that a new wildfire called Hughes Fire has exploded in Los Angeles. Hughes Fire started around 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday. The authorities were alerted about a huge billow of smoke in the wilderness close to Santa Carita.
According to a report from the New York Post, citing information from Watch Duty (a fire monitoring organisation), first responders requested four aircraft and 50 fire engines to snuff out the flames. Wildfire Coordinator for Central Pierce County Jacob Weigler stated that the request indicated the fire was already almost out of control when the fire was discovered.
A news report states that the flames have since been raging out of control, engulfing 3,400 acres of land north of Los Angeles. This new terrifying fire prompted authorities to issue an evacuation order for communities in proximity. The fire has not reached the urban areas.
Notably, one of the nearby towns called Castaic is populated by approximately 18,000 people. According to the New York Post, experts are warning that this latest wildfire could be disastrous and “go nuclear.”
