A 32-year-old employee at a Papa John’s pizzeria in Bronx, New York, suffered multiple injuries after he was attacked by three men during a late-night robbery. The New York Police Department reported that the restaurant was targeted around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The attack occurred at a Papa John’s located at 362 East 204th Street, where the three suspects were captured on the restaurant’s surveillance camera. The released footage shows two of the suspects pummelling the employee, prompting some customers to dart out of the establishment while others intervened.
According to the NYPD, three young men entered the restaurant and got into an argument with the worker before launching a physical attack. According to Pix11, authorities reported that the suspects punched the man repeatedly in the head and face with closed fists.
The video shows the employee receiving several strikes to the head. The first suspect engaged in the fight can be seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, red sweatpants, and grey and black sneakers. The second suspect who delivers ploughs is dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and grey Crocs.
Meanwhile, the third, who is wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and black sneakers, is holding an order throughout the video. When onlookers intervene, the suspect snatches a customer’s order from his hand while he focuses on separating the employee from the attackers.
After the assault, the group allegedly stole merchandise from inside the restaurant before fleeing the scene. It is unclear what items were taken, but the video shows the third suspect leaving with the customer’s order. It is unclear whether the suspects left on foot or used a vehicle, as there are limited details regarding the incident.
The employee sustained injuries to his face and head, police reported. The extent of his injuries has not been disclosed, but reports indicate that they were non-life-threatening. No arrests have been made, and police continue to search for the suspects.
