There was a reported shooting this morning outside Burger King in Negril, Westmoreland, that resulted in the reported deaths of three suspected robbers and the critical injuries of two others.
The thieves, who are said to have arrived at the scene in many vehicles, were reportedly preparing to attack a vehicle carrying cash when they were approached by a police squad.
Five of the individuals were shot during the ensuing gunfire with the police after they allegedly challenged them.
According to a police source, “We cannot declare them dead; that is the job of a doctor.”
But based on what I’ve seen, I can state with some degree of informality that two of them have been taken to the hospital with significant injuries, and three of them have passed.
