A disturbing incident of a man sexually assaulting a corpse on a NYC subway has prompted the police to launch a manhunt. The sexual assault reportedly occurred on a Manhattan subway on Tuesday night, and the NYPD has since released a photo of the suspect.
The New York Post, citing police sources, reported that the disturbing act occurred at 11:45 p.m. on an R train in New York City. The police reportedly possess footage of the suspect engaging in sexual acts with the corpse. The footage was obtained from a surveillance camera that recorded the act.
The identity of the deceased man is still unclear as the police continue to investigate this. His death is believed to have been due to natural causes, according to information obtained by the New York Post. He was believed to have died before the incident unfolded.
The deceased had boarded the train at around 8 p.m., per the report. It is believed that the suspect boarded the train approximately three hours later. However, police have not confirmed the precise location where he entered the train.
At some point, the victim passed away while riding the train. The security camera footage captured the suspect engaging in the heinous act at about 11:45 p.m., the news outlet reported. Later, at around 12:08 a.m., the suspect disembarked the train, and he was later seen leaving the Whitehall Street station just after midnight.
Detectives have concluded that the victim and the suspect did not know each other before the incident, based on the findings from their investigation.
Described as a necrophiliac, the suspect is said to resemble a man similar in appearance to Juan Chi-Chi Rodríguez. He is reported to be approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing around 195 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. The suspect’s last known location was on Manor Avenue in the Soundview section of the Bronx, according to the report.
