Former Migos rapper Offset was left nursing a gunshot wound after he was attacked outside a Florida casino on Monday night. Offset was near the popular Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood when the incident happened, according to the entertainer’s spokesperson.
The Seminole Police confirmed that, at around 7 p.m., Offset was at a valet area when a bullet struck him. Footage from the scene has been released, showing what appears to be Offset on the ground after being shot and someone attending to him.
Offset’s injuries were described as non-life-threatening, and he was rushed to Memorial Regional Hospital in the area.
Officers were quickly alerted to the situation and were on the scene shortly after the shooting. A representative of the department told TMZ that the situation was quickly contained and that two suspects were at the scene. Authorities later confirmed that there was no threat to the public, and operations in the area resumed.
Meanwhile, Offset continues to receive medical care. His representative reported that the rapper is “fine” and his condition is stable. They added that doctors are closely monitoring Offset.
Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendell Cephus, has three children, whom he shares with Cardi B. The pair had a secret Atlanta wedding in 2017, but had a tumultuous relationship fuelled by cheating allegations. In 2024, Cardi B revealed that she had filed for a divorce.
Offset’s shooting incident comes years after his former bandmate Takeoff was gunned down in Houston. Takeoff was 28 years old when he was fatally shot outside a bowling alley. He was at the location with his fellow Migos members Offset and Quavo, who were playing dice.
Takeoff was considered the glue that held the group together because the Migos disbanded after his death. Police arrested and charged Patrick Clark with the fatal shooting. Clark maintained his innocence, and his trial will begin in November.
