Singer Ray J has publicly shared that he only has months left to live after years of excessively drinking and using drugs. On January 27, he dropped the shocking news on Instagram, citing the grim prognosis he said he was given by medical professionals.
The R&B artist had to be admitted to a hospital for a severe case of pneumonia earlier this month. It appears that his hospitalisation led to the revelation of his alleged deteriorating health. Ray J, born William Ray Norwood Jr., indicated in the caption that his condition while hospitalised was so bad that he could have died. “Just almost died!! I’m alive because of your prayers and support!!”
In a video, the 45-year-old shared that he believes he will not live beyond next year. “2027 is definitely a wrap for me. That’s what they say,” he said. He described his heart as a failing organ that is not functioning properly, discoloured, and partially “done.”
The One Wish hitmaker said his heart is operating at only a quarter of its normal capacity, beating at 25%. He also described the right side as “black” and “done.”

The entertainer blamed his declining health on substance abuse and admitted that he now deeply regrets the toll it has taken on his body.
“I fucked up,” he continued. He added that he believed his weight could manage the excessive alcohol and drugs, such as Adderall, he was taking, but he was greatly mistaken.
Looking back on the height of his addiction, Ray J admitted that he was drinking up to five bottles of alcohol each day and swallowing as many as “10 Addies” at once. He said that at the time he thought he was “indestructible,” and now he realised his error. He later added that he had come to terms with his situation and made sure his loved ones would be taken care of.
