The confrontation, which went viral over the weekend, stemmed from an ongoing feud between Rush, whose real name is Richie-Ann R Jackson, and social media personality Shania.
The dispute reportedly began after Shania made disparaging remarks about Rush’s marriage and child. In response, Rush and her wife had previously spoken about confronting Shania, with her wife even expressing that she wanted to slap her.
Tensions escalated during the Carnival weekend, when the two parties crossed paths at the hotel. Reports indicate that security personnel were attempting to remove Rush and her wife from Shania’s section as the situation became heated, with threats allegedly being made.
During the commotion, a man believed to be associated with Shania approached Rush’s wife, sparking a physical confrontation. Rush then stepped in to defend her partner. In footage captured by a bystander, she is seen striking the man with her bag while demanding that he release her spouse. The man responded by slapping Rush in the face.
The situation quickly intensified, with Rush attempting to retaliate before being restrained by security. She continued issuing threats as the altercation unfolded. The video has since circulated widely across social media platforms.
Following the incident, the man issued a public apology to Rush, stating that he held no ill intent and expressing remorse for his actions. He also indicated that he did not wish for the matter to escalate further.
Rush later reshared the apology on her Instagram story, suggesting she may have accepted it. By Carnival Sunday, she was seen participating in festivities, dressed in a purple, blue and green costume, appearing in high spirits despite the earlier incident.
