Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s family has officially extended as the couple welcomed their first daughter earlier this month. The music and fashion mogul announced the news herself, sharing both the baby’s name and birthdate in a celebratory Instagram post that quickly captured the attention of millions.
“Rocki Irish Mayers. Sept 13 2025,” Rihanna wrote, confirming that she gave birth to a baby girl ten days ago in Los Angeles. The infant has two big brothers, RZA, born in 2022, and Riot Rose, who followed in 2023. With the addition of Rocki, the family now balances two boys and a girl, something both parents had openly hoped for.
The journey to this moment has been one in which Rihanna and Rocky embraced publicly in their own unique ways. Rihanna first revealed her pregnancy at the Met Gala earlier this year, turning the high-profile event into a runway announcement. Later in June, she teased about the baby’s gender at The Smurfs premiere, joking, “Let’s see if it’s a Smurfette! Could be a Papa Smurf. Who knows!”

Rocky, however, had already made it clear what he was wishing for. In an interview with ELLE, he admitted, “I hope it’s a girl. I really do. We’re praying for a girl.” Reflecting on their experiences, Rocky said that they did not hesitate to learn the sex, while the second time they opted to wait.
Meanwhile, for the third time, he said they “don’t want to know until, you know.” Even so, he had a strong hunch that Rihanna would have a girl because her third pregnancy felt different from her first two.
For Rihanna, the focus has often been on cherishing the personalities already blossoming in her children. In a conversation with Harper’s Bazaar earlier this year, she described her oldest son, RZA, as “an empath” who loves music, books, and water. Riot, on the other hand, she called “hilarious”, noting his energetic mornings:“He’s my alarm in the morning! He’s not taking no for an answer from anyone.”
