TikToker Rosealee and her long-time partner, Jakes, lost custody of their children after Jakes dropped them off at school on Thursday in Seaview Gardens, St Andrew. After he returned home, Jakes was alerted by the school that the Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) had arrived to collect their son, Barbar, and daughter, Shantoy.
When he rushed back to the school, the children were already gone with the CPFSA agent. “From when I carried them to school on Thursday, I didn’t see them back,” he told Jamaica Star and described the sleepless night that followed.
The intervention came after a livestream by Rosalee, who made troubling remarks about harming her children and partner. The CPFSA confirmed that multiple reports of alleged abuse had been filed previously, and the recent livestream pushed them to act under the Child Care and Protection Act.
Jake admitted that while he cannot fault the CPFSA for doing its job, he placed the blame for the ordeal squarely on his partner. He believes Rosealee’s public outbursts triggered the intervention. Rosealee had said that she sometimes thinks about fatally stabbing her children and her partner.

“She can’t expect to say something like that, with so many people watching, and not report it,” he said. However, Jakes noted that they have been together for twelve years, and he does not believe that she would ever harm them. He reflected on the simple routines that shaped their days, such as preparing their uniforms, making breakfast, and walking them to school. Losing those moments, he said, has left him devastated and crying multiple nights.
The two children, aged 7 and 10, have since spoken with their father by phone, expressing their longing to return home. Jake is determined to bring them home, even if it means making significant changes. He has started livestreaming on TikTok to seek support in building a separate home. He believes continuing to live with Rosalee would jeopardise his chances of regaining custody.
During his live stream, Jake shared that as a teenager, he was arrested and placed in a juvenile centre for three months. He says he knows firsthand the pain of being separated from family, and it breaks his heart to think his children are going through something similar.
Despite the tension, Jakes credited Rosalee for being the provider and raising their children, noting that they are admired at school for their achievements.
