It has been revealed that the charges against Jamaican vlogger Cushane “CMR” Carter were redacted. The news of the dismissed case was shared by vlogger Kingmixup, who posted a photograph of a court document on Instagram on Tuesday.
The document from the Orange County Circuit Court disclosed that charges were redacted after an investigation was conducted. Based on the findings of the investigation, which were not highlighted, it was determined that the case was not unsuitable for prosecution.
The document read, “COMES NOW the State of Florida, by and through the undersigned Assistant State Attorney, and states that: From the investigation that has been made, it is the opinion of the writer that this case is not suitable for prosecution.”
It continued by stating, “This action is taken to clear the records and to release the subject’s bond if any has been posted responsive to the above charge(s). If in custody, the defendant should be released.”
The post has ignited speculation among social media users as some assume that the victim, who is allegedly his stepdaughter, may have lied about being inappropriately touched by Carter. However, others assume that his wife, Julian “Chrissy” Carter, was responsible for the case being dismissed, claiming that she coaxed her daughter to lie to have the charges dropped.
Carter was arrested in Orange County, Florida, on November 2 after the police were informed that he allegedly molested a minor within his home. A report from the Apopka Police Department stated that a 13-year-old girl alerted her school officials of an incident at home involving the vlogger.
She claimed that Carter approached her three times in her bedroom and touched her inappropriately. On the third occasion, he reportedly pulled down her clothes and looked at her underwear. The girl claimed that she wanted him to stop while expressing that he was a good man. The police were alerted by the school, and the police spoke to the victim and CMR, who denied the allegations.
According to the document, Carter claimed he saw the girl inappropriately touching herself and demanded that she stop doing it. Following an investigation, he was arrested and charged with Lewd or Lascivious Molestation. The charge outlined that Carter was accused of inappropriate or indecent behaviour involving physical contact with a minor aged 12 to 15, while the accused was at least 18 years old. He was later released on bail.
