Social media personality Shalam has been exposed online by an alleged transgender woman, with whom he was reportedly having sexual conversations.
Shalam, who has built a strong online following by openly denouncing homosexuality, has frequently targeted members of the LGBTQ community, particularly transgender individuals. He is widely known for using the term “transmissions” to refer to transgender people, a phrase that later became popular in Jamaica through his content.
Despite this public stance, the Rasta TikToker is now at the centre of a controversy after a transgender woman leaked private conversations allegedly involving him. According to what has been shared, the two communicated on WhatsApp.
Two screen recordings were released, one of which is said to be from a video call. In the clip, Shalam appears on screen while the other person on the call is seen exposing their private areas to him. In that same recording, a chat is shown with a contact saved as “I AM Shalam”, where sexual messages are exchanged between the two. During the conversation, the transgender woman reportedly requested a nude photo, to which the recipient asked for an image first.
An additional recording shows what appears to be an aroused man’s lower body clothed in boxers. The image was apparently sent in response to the request and was shared as a “view once” message.
Beyond TikTok, where he has more than 147,000 followers, Shalam is also known as a recording artist. One of his most popular songs, “Kum Dung Now”, which is based on his viral slang, was released three years ago and helped boost his profile. He currently has over 82,800 followers on Instagram. Last year, he was seen socialising with dancehall star Popcaan on several occasions. Shalam has also shared the stage with Vybz Kartel, performing his viral song in front of a large audience.
