Jamaican dancehall singer Shenseea has officially announced that she is now an independent artiste, confirming her departure from Interscope Records. The entertainer made the revelation in a social media video shared Monday that has been creating a buzz online.
In the video, Shenseea said that she has been on own without a label since November 2024. The video, shared in her Instagram Story, marks the first time she has spoken publicly about the split, and she appears to be embracing the transition with optimism.
The Hit & Run artiste shared her enthusiasm about this new chapter and revealed that the change could reignite her passion for music. “I’m pretty excited, and I feel like I can find a lot of fun and passion back in my music right now. And, yeah, we’re about to turn up,” she said.
Shenseea explained that her collaboration with Skillibeng and Ghanaian-American singer Moliy on the popular remix of Shake it to the Max (Fly) was among her first projects post-Interscope. The Blessed hitmaker continued to express her excitement about reclaiming creative control by adding in the caption, “I finally regained full control.”

This update comes on the heels of Shenseea promising her fans new songs on Sunday. Staying true to her word, Shenseea dropped a new freestyle on Instagram on Monday, showing her impressive appearance on the popular music platform On The Radar. In the post, she also said that fans have been requesting more music, including freestyles, and her latest freestyle was part of an effort to spoil her fans.
