A fatal shooting was captured on a surveillance camera late Friday night, April 10. It is alleged that the incident, which left one man dead, was recorded in Greater Portmore, St Catherine.
Based on details observed in the footage, the incident took place about 10:28 p.m. in an area where several men had gathered. It is understood that at least five individuals were gathered in an outdoor location when a lone gunman approached. The armed man opened fire, targeting one man in the group.
At the beginning of the video, the men are standing and interacting. Later, a masked gunman can be seen quickly approaching one of the men, who had his back turned at the time. The attacker opens fire at close range.

The shooter seemingly fires two shots near the upper body, and the targeted individual flinches before collapsing. While the other men scatter from the area in panic, more shots are fired in rapid succession as the armed man stands over him.
The footage suggests that approximately five shots were successfully fired before the weapon appears to stop discharging, even as the attacker continues pulling the trigger. The gunman then runs from the scene, leaving the victim lying motionless on the ground.
After the incident, the injured man is seen on the ground in a pool of blood. The injuries appear to be concentrated around the head. Based on the visuals, he is believed to have died at the scene.
The identity of the victim has not been confirmed, and there has been no official statement from the police regarding the incident up to news time. There is also currently no word of a potential motive behind the attack. While only one suspect was captured on the camera, it is unclear if any other people were involved in the fatal shooting.
