It seems that Skatta Burrell and Popcaan had a physical altercation at Freedom Street after the disrespectful remarks were made on stage. Skatta Burrell previously mentioned disrespecting Popcaan privately under the stage at the National Stadium. This was somewhat overlooked by many, but Foota Hype later shared that he heard Skatta attacked Popcaan after he performed. Foota said Skatta allegedly punched Popcaan twice, causing Popcaan’s crew to fight Skatta.
The fight was again mentioned in the comment section of a post made by Skatta Burrell. The Instagram post shared yesterday sought to clarify what caused the drama, indicating that Popcaan was not complying with the venue’s policy.
The picture post informed online users that the National Stadium has a strict policy prohibiting anyone from carrying weapons onto the premises. It stated all entertainers and their security personnel must hand over their weapons “at the designated area before they can be allowed on the premises,” and the promoters could not “authorise the police to disregard this rule.”
In the comments, Skatta responded to multiple questions left by IG users. One IG user questioned why the policy was not included in the contract of the artists that were booked to perform, and Skatta replied by saying the artists are fully aware of the policy.
Another questioned the reason why Skatta was allowed to have his firearm, and Skatta said that he made a special request to have it.
One person indicated that waiting 3 hours to be allowed onto the venue was ridiculous, but Skatta denied that Popcaan waited for 3 hours.
Someone questioned how entertainers were supposed to protect themselves and why they were disarmed while others like Skatta were not. In response, the promoter said that the entertainers could have also made a special request and been granted the right to keep their weapons.
Lastly, an IG user called out Skatta for brandishing his gun during the alleged altercation that happened after Popcaan’s performance. However, Skatta said he never held his weapon on or off stage. He claimed he had the altercation under the stage with his bare hands.
Notably, Foota Hype had mentioned that Skatta had allegedly put away his firearm in a bag before confronting Popcaan.
