Dancehall star Skeng, born Kevon Douglas, is back in the spotlight with an exciting update on his forthcoming album. In a recent post on social media platform X on March 23, Skeng revealed that the album will feature his first-ever collaboration with fellow dancehall artiste Ding Dong. The announcement came with a lively video capturing the duo and their crew energetically dancing in the studio.
In the video, Ding Dong’s distinctive verse can be heard cutting through the beat. The track appears to be one that will get music enthusiasts out on the dance floor, as it had Skeng and Ding Dong vigorously jumping and dancing in the studio.
The high-energy studio session hints that the album will be a banger. Skeng is known for his electrifying personality and infectious style. He mostly creates gangster songs with grim lyrics, but it is unclear if he is heading in that direction with the album. Although only a snippet was teased, the collaboration with Ding Dong seems to be a fun, groovy track, which Ding Dong is known for creating.
The entertainers were also accompanied by Jiggy D, another familiar face in the dancehall scene. The clip builds anticipation among fans, who are already excited by the promise of fresh sounds from these two heavyweights.
This collaboration is not the only one that will be featured on the album. Earlier in the year, he had stirred excitement by announcing that Nicki Minaj would also be featured on the album, a collaboration that will blend dancehall with pop.
In 2022, his debut EP, Beast of the Era, made waves across the Caribbean. The album topped the Reggae iTunes chart and secured impressive positions on streaming platforms in Jamaica, Anguilla, and the Cayman Islands.
Skeng has not yet disclosed details, such as the title, tracklist, number of features, and release date, for his upcoming album. However, he may share more updates as he and his team work on the project.
