In the early hours of Friday morning, Downtown Kingston came to a standstill following a multi-vehicle crash that left at least two members of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) injured. The scene unfolded at the intersection of Harbour Street and Hanover Street near a Grace Kennedy outlet at about 6:30 a.m., per the Jamaica Gleaner. The news outlet confirmed that several people were rushed to the hospital following the incident.
According to journalist Andre Williams, the crash involved what appeared to be a private motorist and a JDF service vehicle. Footage shared online shows the immediate aftermath of the collision, with uniformed soldiers sprawled across the roadside. The video captures one soldier lying close to the service vehicle, being assisted by a fellow member of the military. In contrast, another injured soldier is seen a few feet away, partially on the sidewalk.
The service vehicle itself came to rest in a ditch. A red car, believed to be the private vehicle involved, was seen a short distance away on the sidewalk where it rammed into the side of a building. Several bystanders are present at the scene, attempting to help before emergency personnel arrive.
A photo of the scene shows significant damage to the military’s service vehicle and a car. The damages are observed at the front end of the service vehicle, while the red car has damages along the front and the side.

Just as the video is coming to an end, someone in the background can be heard saying that one of the individuals involved in the collision has a head injury. Authorities have not yet confirmed the full extent of those injured or provided details on how the crash occurred. However, it was confirmed that officials have launched an investigation into the incident.
Meanwhile, members of the public have expressed hope for the recovery of those involved.
