Dancehall artiste Spice dropped the visuals for her song Chair on Friday. The entertainer clued fans in on the music video’s release with clips of the shoot on Instagram in the week.
Chair, which is hosted on her album Mirror 25, was officially released in August 2024. Several months later, Spice Street fans were treated to vibrant visuals that complemented the song’s raunchy lyrical content.
In the lyrics, Spice explicitly describes what she wants her partner to do to her in the bedroom, detailing how she wants to be handled and pleased. The raunchy track continues with her boldly declaring that she’s unafraid to perform intimate acts and holds nothing back. She emphasises her desire for the experience to be unforgettable, one that leaves her messy and down in the dirt.
For this beach-themed music video, the Queen of Dancehall recruits dancers of various sizes to perform a risky dance choreography on the beach. The ladies showcased their dancing prowess, and so did Spice, who put on a twerking show on the beach.
One scene shows her seated alone along the shore before dancers later join her in several other chairs. Other shots show her in a mask and also dancing on a platform. Later in the video, Spice attends a beach party, where she and her dancers continue with their provocative performance.
The video has been racking up thousands of views on YouTube. It has been garnering much praise from fans, some of whom took to the comments to gush about aspects that they appreciated, such as the music video’s creativity, inclusivity, and visual storytelling. One user (@paulcharmed) applauded Spice for featuring women of all sizes, calling her a “true queen.”
Another (@nicolemiller7969) declared that Spice deserves awards for every aspect of her music, from songwriting to video production. Others could not get enough of Spice’s bold lyrics and fierce delivery. Spice’s status as the reigning “Queen of Dancehall” was reaffirmed repeatedly in the comments. Some fans like @nyopegideon7659 and @gembenjamin7942 applauded her lasting impact and style.
