Jamaican superstar Spice continues to dominate the dancehall scene as her debut album, 10, secures its place as the highest-selling and most-streamed dancehall album of the past five years.
Since Spice dropped her album on her birthday, August 6, 2021, 10 has sold 140,000 units in the United States, including 21,000 pure album sales. The album has also accumulated more than 371 million global streams on Spotify, according to recent reports.
These numbers underscore the album’s massive international appeal. This accomplishment also solidifies her status as the undisputed “Queen of Dancehall.”
This incredible feat is only one of the achievements on the album’s list of accolades. The 15-track album also earned four music certifications and is eligible for two U.S. gold certifications thanks to two of its hit singles, making it the only Jamaican-born female dancehall album to achieve such recognition.
Spice’s album 10 achieved record-breaking success when it received a Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album of the Year. This major milestone recognises her as the first female hardcore dancehall artiste to receive a solo Grammy nomination for her own album and solidifies her as a pioneer in the genre. Shenseea is the second female artiste to achieve this after receiving a 2025 nomination for her album Never Gets Late Here.
Spice’s album 10 was released by VP Records and executive produced by Grammy-winning artiste Shaggy. Its success has marked a significant milestone in Spice’s illustrious career. Spice, who has been a force in the music industry for over two decades, is not a household name in Jamaica.
She is also a global superstar known for her raunchy music and unfiltered delivery. Her unique style, risque music, and versatility have earned her a massive international following. Her latest project is her sophomore album, Mirror 25, which was released on August 9, 2024. Mirror 25 marks her fourth official music project. Her catalogue consists of two EPs and two full-length albums.
