A group of students, believed to be from Kingston Technical High School, went shoplifting at a store in the Corporate Area. Surveillance footage of the brazen theft has emerged, showing them swiping products from the shelves of UMI Haberdashery along Hope Road.
The video, released by the business place on TikTok on Wednesday, captures several individuals, some of them dressed in school uniforms, moving through the store while removing items from shelves and concealing them in their clothing and schoolbags.

The footage shows varying behaviour among the group. Some students appeared cautious, glancing toward surveillance cameras and attempting to hide their actions, while others carried out the act more openly, seemingly unconcerned about being recorded.

The incident is alleged to have taken place during daytime hours, though the exact timing has not been confirmed. It is also unclear how many students were involved or whether any have since been identified or questioned by authorities.
Since its release, the video has gone viral on social media, sparking strong reactions from members of the public. The footage also triggered embarrassment and concern among the viewers.

“This is so embarrassing,” one user wrote. Another commenter simply described the situation as “such a shame.” There were also calls for accountability from parents and guardians, with some users urging families to identify those involved.
“Parents identify the kids on the monitor,” one comment read, while others speculated about how parents might react upon seeing the video circulating online. At the same time, a few commenters attempted to downplay the situation, suggesting that similar behaviour is not uncommon among teenagers, though that view was not widely supported.
UMI Haberdashery has not indicated whether the matter has been formally reported to the police, and there has been no official statement from the school regarding the allegations.
