On Tuesday, three men were fatally shot in St. James when they reportedly engaged in a shootout with the police. TVJ news reported the incident during the midday news segment, highlighting that one of the deceased is a suspect in the murder of a TikToker from the parish.
According to the report, the police visited an Orange District in the parish around 6:00 a.m. With a warrant, the police went in search of a suspect in an open investigation. During their early morning operation, a shootout reportedly took place. One of the men who was shot and killed was the man they were searching for.
The police retrieved 3 firearms following the incident. The story is still developing, so more details are to come.
The report did not mention the name of the TikToker, but the only TikToker who was murdered in the parish was Marvin Samuels, popularly known as 41 Busshead. Samuels was killed on December 20, and his death could potentially start a gang war given that he is related to someone believed to be a gang leader.
However, National Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang stated that the police are working hard to prevent that from happening.
