The 33-year-old mathematics teacher involved in the viral sexual misconduct case is alleging that she was assaulted by the 16-year-old student. Both parties have released official court statements, each claiming assault against the other.
Moon 10 understands that the video was recently leaked amid the trial. Reports say the incident occurred in August 2025, and the teacher, Zvikomborero Maria Makedenge, was arrested for sexually assaulting a minor. Her bond was later set to $100, and the trial began at the Harare Magistrates Court in Zimbabwe on December 2.
Makedenge, who is said to reside in the United States, is reportedly the Head Hostess at The Abu Dhabi Edition. She is accused of forcing the teen, Tinashe Chigumbu, a resident of Glen View in Harare, to have sex at his house after locking him inside a bedroom on August 2, 2025, according to Prosecutor Rufaro Chonzi. The prosecution told the court that Makedenge asked the teen for a broom, and he handed her one. Sometime later, the teen went to a bedroom, which was when Makedenge allegedly followed him inside and closed the door.
Prosecutor Chonzi said that Makedenge allegedly forced Tinashe’s hand behind his back and tied them with an electrical wire. She then allegedly pushed him onto the bed and sexually assaulted him.
The court heard that after the assault was done, Makedenge reportedly untied his hands and threatened him not to tell anyone. She also reportedly bribed Tinashe by promising to take him abroad. These accusations were reported to the police after the teen confided in his sister, who later told their mother.
However, the viral video of Tinashe, also known as Baltazzar or Bulldozer, in a compromising position with the teacher, shows that his hands are free as he participates.
Meanwhile, Makedenge rejected the prosecution’s accusations in court, claiming she was the victim. Makedenge said Tinashe initiated the sex when he came to a Glen View house to get extra lessons in algebra. In her official statement, she claimed that Tinashe was acting strangely from the moment he walked in and even refused to look at the notes she prepared for him.
“He refused to look at my notes, refused to sit properly, and kept disturbing everything,” Makedenge said. She added that she left him with snacks when she briefly stepped away to change into comfortable clothes.
She alleged that the furniture was moved when she returned. Although the snacks were meant to help him get settled in, she said he was still restless and uncooperative when she wanted to resume. Makedenge expressed shock at Tinashe’s behaviour, claiming he had initiated the sex. She said she shouted for help, but no one came.
“What this boy did to me, no man has done to me like that in many years,” she added.
