A late-night brawl at a Whataburger in San Antonio, Texas, has left one teenager severely injured and seven adults behind bars. The fight erupted just after 3 a.m. Sunday at the Blanco Road location near West Bitters Road due to a disagreement over food orders.
Footage was shared online, showing the brawl that erupted, reportedly after food orders were mixed up. Shouts filled the air as fists began to fly while one man was seen punching a young male in the face, and another was struck repeatedly by several people, even after falling to the ground.
Several bystanders were in the restaurant watching the brawl. At one point, a woman rushed in, pleading for the attackers to stop. Instead of stepping back, one of the men shoved her away. When she threatened to call the police, they told her to go ahead.
By the time officers from the San Antonio Police Department arrived, the restaurant was left in disarray, with multiple individuals nursing injuries. Authorities arrested seven adults at the scene, identified as 21-year-old Andres Garcia Cardenas; 21-year-old Tyrone Tolliver; 57-year-old Miguel Torres; 21-year-old Meili Torres; 21-year-old Andrew Lopez; 23-year-old Deontae Tolliver; and 53-year-old Veronica Valdez. The group were taken into custody at the Bexar County Jail, where they were booked with assault causing bodily injury charges.
Based on the report, the group attacked more than one teen. One of the victim’s mothers described the incident as a vicious attack. She said that her son was left with several severe injuries, including a concussion, a broken wrist, several deep cuts, internal bruising, and bite marks. She insisted that what happened was not a minor dispute but a violent assault that demands justice.
Attorney Roger Perez, who represents the family, said they are choosing not to speak publicly for now while the teen focuses on recovery and the situation undergoes further review.
