An unidentified attacker who is thought to be mentally ill viciously attacked a teenage girl at an apartment complex off Spanish Town Road in St Andrew on Thursday, sending her to the hospital.
Moon 10 is aware that the girl was home alone at Palm Grove Court at around 2:30 pm when the male broke in, sexually assaulted her, and struck the teenager with a hammer.
The male householder allegedly stepped in after the girl sounded an alarm, but he was wounded by the criminal, who then quickly fled.
The seriously hurt teenager was taken to the hospital immediately.
In the meantime, witnesses claimed to have seen the offender strolling down Maxfield Avenue with blood on his clothing.
The suspect is the target of a manhunt by the authorities.
