TikToker Rosealee broke into tears during a recent live stream after attending a court hearing related to the custody of her children. The hearing reportedly ended with her losing full custody of her daughter, Shantau, and son, Bar Bar. Her distress appeared to deepen due to the fact that her former partner, Jakes, did not show up for the hearing.
During the live stream, Rosealee struggled to hold back tears as she reflected on her life and the long road that led her to this point. She spoke about the challenges she faced throughout her 12-year relationship with Jakes, describing it as turbulent and filled with emotional strain.
According to Rosealee, her journey has also been complicated by people around her who, she said, did not truly care for her and instead used her for their own benefit. As she spoke, she revisited painful memories and shared how isolating those experiences felt.
Rosealee also reiterated claims of severe physical abuse, saying that even after she finally regained her freedom, she continued to face damaging narratives being spread about her. She described feeling unsupported by those closest to her, including her mother, whom she described as the absolute worst. At one point during the live, Rosealee admitted she simply wished someone would hug her as she cried.
Jakes later addressed the situation, explaining why he was absent from court. He said he arrived late and already anticipated the outcome, noting that the home he is currently building for his children is not yet complete. As a result, the children will reportedly remain living with their godmother, as their previous residence has been deemed unfit and his new home is still under construction.
He also shared that the day was difficult for his son, who was saddened by the outcome and needed reassurance. Jakes said his son was worried about the possibility of the state intervening, but he assured him that this would not happen.
Maintaining a forward-looking stance, Jakes said his main focus is on completing the house so he can regain custody. He also suggested that Rosealee should have been demonstrating personal changes to strengthen her case, rather than continuing on the same path and expressing regret afterwards.
