TikToker Roy Q is reportedly under suicide watch in Canada after being exposed for having intimate relationships with men. The creator was initially rumoured to have taken his life over the weekend, a few days after photos and videos leaked online.
The controversy began when his alleged ex-lover, a man, shared content with him online. Photos and videos showing him in close or affectionate moments with other men spread across social media within hours.
In one picture, he was seen hugging a man from behind; in others, he posed alongside males in ways that viewers interpreted as intimate. These images led to public claims that he might be homosexual or bisexual, sparking heavy criticism from some corners of the internet, particularly the Jamaican space.
Jamaica is widely known for having strong cultural opinions about same-sex relationships. While Roy Q is reportedly from elsewhere in the Caribbean, he has been residing in Jamaica for some time. He connected with the local TikTokers and attracted a Jamaican audience, who enjoyed watching his upbeat and positive content. Roy Q also often spoke warmly about Jamaica’s energy, saying the country had a different vibe that made it difficult to feel lonely or sad.
Following the backlash, he posted an emotional apology. Through tears, he told viewers he was sorry for disappointing anyone and pleaded for forgiveness. Responses were sharply divided; while some accused him of hiding his true lifestyle, others, alongside several well-known TikTokers, expressed concern for his well-being and defended him.
His final TikTok post on Saturday added to the growing worry: a line from the hymn When We All Get to Heaven that read, “When we all get to heaven what a day of rejoicing that will be,” accompanied by broken-heart emojis. Many fans urged him to stay strong.

Concern deepened when rumours spread that he had harmed himself. TikToker Shay claimed he attempted to take his life but survived and was placed under watch for his safety. Another TikToker, Nicki, shared similar information, saying he had been taken to a hospital in Canada, where he was visiting, and remained under suicide watch as of Sunday.
