Two dead bodies were shockingly discovered in the wheel area of an aeroplane on Monday at an airport in South Florida. According to the reports, a JetBlue aircraft had departed John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York and landed in Fort Lauderdale sometime after 11:00 p.m.
The aircraft was undergoing a routine post-flight maintenance inspection at Hollywood International Airport when airport security personnel found the bodies. It was reported that the bodies were removed from the landing gear compartment of the plane, and they were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.
JetBlue released a statement, disclosing that the police had not identified the bodies at the time, and shared that an investigation has been launched. The question of how the individuals gained access to the aircraft is still a mystery.
In the statement, JetBlue expressed how sad the situation is, saying, “This is a heartbreaking situation, and we are committed to working closely with authorities to support their efforts to understand how this occurred.”
A similar incident occurred in late December when a body was discovered in the wheel well of a United Airlines aircraft. The plane had departed from Chicago. Landed in Maui, where the body was found.
Additionally, there have been incidents where people snuck onto flights without tickets. This has happened at several airlines in recent times. These individuals were later found in the plane’s cabins. One of the incidents occurred in November when a Russian individual boarded a Delta Air Lines flight in New York.
When the flight landed in France, the individual was arrested. Another individual went on a Delta Air Lines flight without a ticket on Christmas Eve. The person was found on the flight, which was in Seattle before it departed for Honolulu.
