wsThe police have confirmed that two fugitives are back in custody after a Jailbreak on Tuesday. The men escaped from the Constant Spring Police Lock-up. The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) says both Richard Bishop and Talik Chambers were captured following ongoing operations to track down the escapees.
Bishop is a 19-year-old resident of the Time Olympic Way community in Kingston. According to police, he had been facing charges of burglary and larceny before breaking out of the facility. Chambers, 23, of Burlington Avenue, Kingston 10, was awaiting trial on charges of identity theft. Their recapture brought the number of fugitives back in custody to three, after 45-year-old David Rhoden was apprehended yesterday. Rhoden, of Malvern Avenue in Kingston, had originally been held on separate charges.
Wednesday afternoon, the number of fugitives on the run was reduced again when police confirmed that three more of the escapees were tracked down in Trelawny. They have been identified as a 31-year-old suspect named Junior Anthony Barnes, a 27-year-old named Brandon Ennis, and a 25-year-old named Kamal Kelly.
While Barnes of Iron River in Golden Spring was being held on charges of possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised ammunition, Ennis from the Belvedere community in Red Hills was facing charges of illegal firearm possession. Additionally, Kelly, a resident of Mannings Hill District in St Andrew, was charged with shooting with intent. Their arrests bring the total number of recaptured men to six, leaving three fugitives still on the run.
The escape, which saw nine men force their way out by cutting through metal barriers, has triggered a major islandwide search. Police continue to stress that these individuals were being held on serious charges, including murder, rape, and firearm offences.
The JCF has repeated its call for the remaining fugitives to surrender peacefully. “The police continue to appeal to the escapees from the Constant Spring lock-up to turn themselves in,” an Instagram post shared by JCF read on Wednesday. The post featured two new photos of the fugitives.

On Tuesday, authorities also reminded the public that anyone caught assisting or sheltering the escapees can face criminal charges. Residents are also being asked to play their part by reporting any information that could assist in locating the men. Members of the public can contact the Constant Spring Police at 876-924-1421, call 119, or contact Crime Stop at 311, where they can anonymously leave tips.
Meanwhile, security has been tightened at the lock-up. The JCF has assured the public that every effort is being made to restore order and return the remaining escapees to custody.
