Two people were killed in a car accident during the holiday along Edward Seaga Highway. The incident happened on Saturday when the deceased was travelling in a 2017 Honda Civic motorcar. The St Catherine police later identified the deceased as 33-year-old Ricardo Collins, a resident of Binns Road, Kingston 11, and 23-year-old Shaddai Mason of Waterford, Portmore, Catherine.
Reports say that they were in a single motor vehicle crash around 7:45 a.m. It is believed that they were leaving an event. A photo of the Mason before the accident reportedly captures her at St Mary Igloo’s Black and White Christmas Anniversary at D’Shore Paggee Beach in Port Maria, St Mary, on December 26. She is seen wearing a blonde wig, a purple one-piece swimsuit, and a white belt as she poses alongside another female dressed in a black two-piece bikini.

Reports say that Collins was driving along the roadway near the Linstead toll plaza when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle. Shortly after, the vehicle crashed into a metal railing. Preliminary reports say they were discovered with critical injuries and were rushed to the Linstead Hospital for immediate care, but they were pronounced dead. The Linstead Traffic Department is aware of the deadly crash and has launched an investigation into the incident.

Videos and photographs of the scene have emerged showing the two victims on the ground and the wrecked white Honda Civic not far away. In one of the images, the pair was seen covered under a white sheet as the authorities processed the scene. In a video, the body of the pair can be seen being inspected by police. Mason is observed wearing the same beachwear, aligning with unofficial reports that they were leaving an event when they crashed. Firefighters were also working on the scene in a different video.
