A shooting incident on Molynes Road in St. Andrew led to a fatal crash on Sunday night. A soldier was shot and killed by two gunmen, who crashed and died. Fernando Dixon, a member of the Jamaica Defence Force, driving in a grey Audi when masked men rode up to him on a motorcycle.
Based on the footage that has been obtained by Moon-10, the gunmen seemingly rode up to the driver’s side of the motor vehicle and fired multiple shots. A collision occurred between the vehicle and the motorcycle as the front of the Audi was damaged and the motorcycle was wedged between a wall and a light post.
According to the Jamaica Gleaner, the 26-year-old soldier used his vehicle to hit the men from a black Honda bike that did not have a plate. The report stated that four occupants were in the vehicle with Dixon.
The gunmen died in the crash, and they were captured in a video of the scene. In the video, the masked men are lying on the ground in black attires while a policeman can be seen inspecting the perpetrators. Bystanders are also nearby, observing and expressing their shock.
Two firearms (a radical 5.56 M16 rifle along with a magazine and Taurus pistol) were seized from the scene, as they fell not far away from the bodies.
Dixon is also captured in separate footage, which shows him behind the steering wheel. The video also shows multiple bullet holes in the vehicle. The soldier was pronounced dead at the Kingston Public Hospital.
