Jamaican video vixen Star (@star-doll5 ), who was attacked in a viral video by emerging dancehall artiste Qwella, has shared updates about her current condition. The female dancer was beaten during a confrontation with the deejay and was left with bruises on her face.
According to Star, she also suffered “brain damage and broken bone” from the incident. Her condition was shared in Instagram Stories, where she continues to post the support she has received from both fans and fellow entertainers, including dancehall artiste Jamal, who publicly condemned violence against women.

While Star recovers, the backlash continues to mount. Dancers and models across the country are speaking out against the culture of disrespect they say has long been ignored. According to 23-year-old Titania Hibbert, who witnessed the incident, it all began before they even reached the set. One of the six girls booked for the shoot suffers from asthma. She reportedly asked a friend of Qwella’s to lower a window in the car due to smoke. Her request was reportedly dismissed.
Things escalated once on set, when Qwella allegedly barged into the models’ changing room and refused to leave when asked. “After some back and forth, words were exchanged. He left the room and came back… then just start beat her in front of everybody,” Hibbert said. Despite others present, no one was able to stop the attack.

According to reports, Star visited a police station to file a complaint and went to the hospital for medical treatment. However, the Jamaica Constabulary Force’ Corporate Communications Network told the Jamaica Star it did not have the incident on file.
Shania Palmer, who runs Platinum Entertainment Ja, says the backlash against the victim is disturbing. “People are blaming the other girls, but everyone there was a victim,” she told the Jamaica Star. Palmer added that many vixens work under risky conditions with little protection or structure in place.
She said that some people believe that video vixens are sex workers and denies this assumption. Palmer told the media that in most cases, the entourages cause problems and not the artistes.
Additionally, Qwella has not returned to Instagram since abruptly deactivating his account following the release of the incriminating video.
