Vybz Kartel has finally revealed when he intends to marry his fiancée Sidem Öztürk. The dancehall icon spoke about his relationship and his wedding plans during a new interview with Capital Xtra.
During the interview, Adidja “Vybz Kartel” Palmer highlighted that there are many things in his life contributing to his current happiness, and of course, his fiancée is a major contributor. The deejay complimented his Turkish fiancée’s beauty by stating, “I have a fiancée, and she prettier than Beyoncé.”
Kartel expressed that he wanted to tie the knot with Sidem on January 7, 2025. However, arrangements must be made to have both families of the bride and the groom present for the wedding. Therefore, the wedding will be postponed for an additional month. He emphasised that it would not be delayed any longer than February. With one month added to the original date, the highly anticipated wedding is now expected to take place on February 7, 2025.
“I wanted to do it on January 7; we want her family, my family, and everyone to be here, so we probably have to extend it… just for maybe a month to get everything in order. No later than February,” Vybz Kartel said.

In November, Vybz Kartel gave Sidem a real proposal and shared a video of it online. The pair have been engaged since he was incarcerated, but he expressed in the caption of the post that he made it official by getting on one knee.
He expressed his love for her, saying, “You were there when I needed you most, and I’ll never leave you, baby. I cherish every visit, every phone call, and all the moments we spent talking, laughing, and even crying together. You’ve been my rock, my best friend, and my companion. I pray we stay together for as long as I live. I love you, baby.”
Vybz Kartel and Sidem met in 2015 while he was serving time after being convicted of murder. He has shared on multiple occasions that Sidem stalked him online until she got the opportunity to speak to him. The pair started dating during his time in prison and also got engaged, and he introduced her to the world as his fiancée.
Vybz Kartel said since Sidem came to Jamaica on August 15, 2022, she has remained in the country. The pair have been flaunting their love and happiness all over the internet since his conviction was overturned in July.
