Jamaican Dancehall icon Vybz Kartel will perform at the 2025 staging of the Wireless Festival alongside renowned Canadian rapper Drake. This year, the Wireless Festival will commemorate its 20th anniversary at London’s Finsbury Park. It will be a three-night event with a stellar lineup and Drake is the headlining act.
The event starts on July 11th and concludes on the 13th. On July 11, Drake will be joined by PartNextDoor and Summer Walker. On July 12, Drake will perform alongside ‘The Mandem’. On July 13, the final night, Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy, and Vybz Kartel will join Drake on the stage.
The event marks Vybz Kartel’s highly anticipated return to the international stage following his release from prison. The Fever artiste served 13 years in prison and his conviction was acquitted by the Court of Appeal in July.
Despite being incarcerated for more than a decade, Vybz Kartel’s impact on the music industry and cultural influence remains strong, earning him his first Grammy Award nomination. He was nominated for the Best Reggae Album for Party With Me, which was recorded and released during his incarceration.
The award went to Bob Marley: One Love – Music Inspired By The Film (Deluxe) at the 67th Grammy Awards, which Kartel attended with his fiancée, Sidem Öztürk in Los Angeles, California. The deejay is currently visiting London with Sidem.
