Moments before the caregiver in May Pen, Clarendon, was chopped to death, her 12-year-old son heard her screaming in the bedroom. The deceased, 46-year-old Jennifer Williamson, was reportedly locked inside her room with her spouse late Sunday night when she was killed, according to a report.
The police have since identified the spouse as a fruit vendor named ‘Tony’ Thompson, who is wanted for her murder. Police are appealing to him to turn himself in. He is alleged to have killed Williamson with a machete about 10:30 p.m. At the time of the incident, police say the 12-year-old responded to his mother’s cries for help, but when he got to the bedroom, he could not get the door open.
The door did not unlock until Thompson reportedly pulled it and fled the scene while carrying a machete, per the police report. After Thompson stormed out, the child entered the room and found his mother suffering from multiple chop wounds. When the boy saw the bloody scene, he reportedly became terrified and bolted outside the home on Glenmuir Drive.

A resident recalled seeing the frantic boy crying out for help in the night, a sight that has left them shaken. He was reportedly trembling as he shouted to the neighbourhood that his mother was allegedly murdered by her spouse. There was another occupant inside the house, who rushed Williamson to the hospital with chops to her head, abdomen, and hands. She was later confirmed to be dead.
The death of Williamson, along with her son’s heartbreaking cries for help in the night, created a sombre atmosphere in the community. While residents were stunned by the ordeal, they said Williamson and Thompson have been at odds for a long time. They believe she was killed during the boiling point of one of their domestic disputes.

According to the report, Williamson has six children, including twins who are 10 years old. The two-storey house she lived in is owned by her spouse’s relatives, who told her she could remain there while she got back on her feet. A resident said that Williamson and Thompson’s relationship turned sour, leading to ongoing issues regarding her living in the house. It is alleged that Thompson kept telling her to leave the property, and they would argue about the matter.
Residents recalled instances when the children were forced to charge their devices at neighbours’ houses because electricity was disconnected at their house. On the day of the incident, sources said Williamson left the house to cool off after an argument with Thompson. She went searching for somewhere else to live and went to Kingston. When she returned later that day, she was chopped to death.
