Moments before Offset was shot, a physical altercation ensued between him and rapper Lil Tjay right outside the Florida casino. Tjay was taken into custody by deputies attached to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, from whom he walked out on Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities have confirmed that Lil Tjay was among multiple individuals involved in the fight with Offset shortly before the shooting. It is alleged that the fight stemmed from a US$10,000 debt, but this has not been confirmed. The 25-year-old was booked into jail on charges of disorderly conduct and was released on a $500 bond.

Law enforcement has not named Tjay a suspect in the shooting, but Tjay claims Offset tried to pin the shooting on him. Lil Tjay addressed the matter when he walked out of the sheriff’s office and was met by a crowd of reporters.
He denied any involvement in the shooting and pushed back against claims that he was responsible. The rapper also lashed out at Offset, accusing him of falsely identifying him in connection with the incident and referring to him as a “rat” in a heated exchange with reporters. He further suggested that questions about what led to the confrontation should be directed at Offset.

Offset was injured during the incident and transported to the hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Footage circulating online showed the rapper alert and conscious on Tuesday, as he remained under medical care.
Officials maintain that his arrest was tied strictly to the earlier disturbance and not the shooting. A second individual was reportedly detained at the scene, though no additional charges have been announced so far.

Lil Tjay’s legal representative has also moved to clarify his position, stating that he has not been charged in relation to the shooting and was not involved in any act of violence. She emphasised that the arrest stemmed solely from the altercation and warned against speculation as authorities continue their probe.
