A popular party promoter was gunned down in St Mary on Monday night. The deceased, 32-year-old Kemoy Finley, was attacked by gunmen in Robins Bay. Reports say he was shot about 9:35 p.m., and when the attackers fled the scene, they stole his motor vehicle. He was found suffering from gunshot wounds and was later pronounced dead.
Finley, who is also known as “Walkin’ Bank” or “Turbo”, lived at Highgate in St Mary. Aside from being a promoter in the entertainment scene, reports indicate that he also provided chartered taxi services. Residents and loved ones are left shocked after the incident.
His loved ones have expressed to the media that they are finding it hard to cope with the tragedy. One associate said that Finley is known to be a very cautious person when it comes to whom he does business with. The source indicated to the Jamaica Star that Finley would not conduct or accept chartered rides from unknown people, saying, “If he doesn’t know you personally, he is not going to take you.” His loved ones are puzzled about the attack, questioning what could have caused it.

Finley’s death comes weeks before a major event he was planning to host, according to another associate. The event was scheduled on March 7, and now, instead of preparing for the event, his friends and family are preparing for a funeral. “Nobody saw this coming,” another associate said about the attack.
Finley’s murder marks the second one in the parish on Monday. Hours before his attack, gunmen shot and killed a businessman in Boscobel, St Mary. The deceased in that incident, 59-year-old Garfield Singh, was at his home when gunmen pounced and opened fire. According to a report, Singh operated a tyre shop called Singh’s Tyre Sales, Service and Repair.
Police have launched investigations into both incidents, but detectives have not yet released information regarding the motive behind either shooting. The parish had recorded one homicide up to February 7, while three murders were recorded for the same period in 2025.
