A woman was shot and killed in a drive-by over the weekend. The incident occurred in the Park Lane community off Red Hills Road in St Andrew.
According to journalist Andre Williams, the area, where residents were gathered playing a regular game of bingo, turned into a crime scene after gunmen appeared. The victim, known locally as “Janet” was among the players.
The attack happened suddenly, leaving residents scrambling for safety as gunfire erupted. Unverified reports say that when shots subsided, two women were allegedly found suffering from gunshot injuries. While separate reports confirm the death of one, the condition of the other is currently unknown.
A resident, speaking with the Williams, described the scene bluntly, saying, “Di place shoot up bad.” A photo circulating online shows the woman lying on the ground in a pool of blood near a bingo card. She is dressed in a pink blouse and blue ripped jeans. Authorities have not released official details about her injuries, but a graphic photo obtained by Moon 10 seemingly shows she suffered a headshot.
Additionally, Moon 10 also obtained a separate video that emerged shortly after the shooting. The footage, allegedly connected to the incident, shows a man lying on the roadway next to a damaged motorcycle. It has been suggested that this individual may have been the attacker, though this has not been confirmed.
According to unverified sources, police had intercepted a gunman who then attempted to flee but collided with a parked bus along the side of the road. In the video, four officers quickly approached the man with their weapons drawn, and a police vehicle arrived moments later.
However, there has been no official confirmation from law enforcement regarding the identities of the individuals involved, whether the man in the video was connected to the shooting, or what occurred after officers reached him. The footage has not been verified, and investigators have not yet released a detailed report on the events leading up to or following the attack.
