Yesterday afternoon, two women were attacked with acid at the Pavilion Mall in Half-Way Tree.
A black motorcycle carrying two males entered the mall’s parking lot just after midday, according to an eyewitness. They soon went to a store on the mall’s second floor.
“I watched them come in, and one of them was wearing a mask. The witness reported, “Den dem come up here and guh inna di store, and di next thing mi hear a loud scream.” The two women were seriously hurt and sent to the hospital.
“They really bun up. The eyewitness stated, “One of them looks like half of a face gone because a black acid dem throw pan dem.” The source further disclosed to Moon 10 that although a mall security guard was able to fire a few shots at the assailants, no one was hurt.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force’s chief media strategist, Dennis Brooks, stated that the personnel were donning yellow luminous vests. He added that the women’s backs and arms were hurt, and that’s why they were brought to the Kingston Public Hospital.
The news crew was informed by another purported eyewitness—who also works at the mall and knows one of the victims—that she was horrified by the brutal attack.
