Concerns over Sean “Diddy” Combs’ safety in federal custody have intensified after a close friend came forward with claims of a violent encounter inside the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. Charlucci Finney, who has known Diddy for years, says the music mogul’s time behind bars took a disturbing turn when he allegedly woke up to find a blade pressed against his throat in the middle of the night.
According to Finney, the incident was not just a random act of aggression. Finney described the incident as a deliberate attempt to intimidate Diddy, who currently resides among inmates with serious criminal histories.
Finney explained that when Diddy opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was a knife at his neck. Finney says he does not know whether Diddy physically defended himself or if correction officers intervened first. However, the account aligns with information shared in court during Diddy’s sentencing hearing, where attorney Brian Steel stated that a guard was responsible for stopping the attacker before any blood was shed. Additionally, sources confirmed to TMZ that the encounter did in fact take place.
According to reports, MDC Brooklyn is a facility often described as unpredictable and volatile. Finney highlighted the frequent targeting of individuals with convictions related to sexual misconduct. There have been no further reports concerning that inmate, so it is unclear if Diddy and the inmate had any other threatening encounters during his time at the prison.
Diddy is currently serving a 50-month sentence on two counts of violating the Mann Act. Though he was cleared of more serious charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering, the nature of his conviction still places him at risk, according to Finney and others familiar with federal prison dynamics. While speculation has swirled around a possible presidential pardon, the White House has denied any plans to intervene.
