The alleged former don for March Pen Road was killed with gunshots to the head. The deceased, 60-year-old Alphonso Samuels McDonald, was gunned down in the Corletts Road community in Spanish Town, St Catherine. McDonald, who also goes by the alias “Boo”, was reportedly killed by rivals early Thursday morning.
According to reports, the quiet of the morning was broken around 5:30 a.m. when residents heard a series of explosions. Concerned community members checked the area and discovered that McDonald had been shot.
The police were notified immediately, and officers arrived to find him lying face down, dressed in a red T-shirt, camouflage pants, black socks, and black slippers. He sustained shots to the face and was left severely disfigured after the attack, based on an extremely graphic photo obtained by Moon 10.
McDonald was rushed to the Spanish Town Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. No motive has been established, and investigators have not named any suspects. While some residents believe rival groups may be responsible, it is imperative to note that such claims remain unconfirmed.
The attack left parts of Corletts Road, where McDonald lived, unsettled. The killing has prompted the Spanish Town Criminal Investigation Branch to launch a full probe.
Earlier this year, another don in Spanish Town was killed, but by security forces. In late January, Othniel Lobban, the reputed head of the One Order Gang and known by the alias “Thick Man”, was shot during a joint anti-gang operation. The incident happened around 10 p.m. along Washington Boulevard, close to the Six Miles bridge, where officers intercepted him as part of a targeted push to disrupt gang activity in the area.
According to information from police sources, Lobban had been listed as a high-value target. Earlier that same day, law enforcement moved into the Tawes Meadows community in an effort to capture him. However, during that operation, he managed to get away amid protest action from residents. His escape prompted continued tracking by members of the task force, who eventually confronted him hours later.
Authorities also reported that Lobban was a person of interest in several murders under investigation. After the shooting, a 9-millimetre pistol was reportedly recovered from him.
