Rosealee’s sister, Lamarsha, has opened up about her experience involving sexual assaults by her aunt’s deceased baby father, Miguel. She described the period as a difficult chapter that has since influenced her personal growth.
Lamarsha said she was raised mainly by her grandmother from the age of two after her father died. She described her grandmother as “the best woman in the world.” While growing up, she explained that she frequently moved between her grandmother’s home and her mother’s residence, but later chose to live with her mother, a decision she said she came to regret because of events that occurred during that time.

The former Kingston Technical High School student said her move happened during the COVID-19 pandemic when schools were closed, and classes shifted online. Since her mother did not have internet access, Lamarsha said she began visiting her aunt’s house to complete schoolwork.
Lamarsha, who is now 18 years old, said she was about 14 years old when Miguel suggested that she remain at the house instead of travelling back and forth. He proposed that she share a bedroom with his daughter, Ashley. She said she was very close to Ashley, but after Ashley later left the home, she remained there alone.

Lamarsha alleged that during this period she experienced repeated sexual abuse by Miguel, explaining that at the time she did not fully understand what was happening. She expressed that she did not consider it rape because he gave her gifts, and her aunt was also in the know.
According to Lamarsha, disputes sometimes arose between Miguel and her aunt, particularly when he could not be with Lamarsha. She said that a lot of issues arose inside the house, which also led to her and her aunt sleeping outside one night. While recounting what happened, she expressed disappointment that her aunt later denied knowledge of the situation.
Continuing, she said she eventually left the residence because she felt overwhelmed and frustrated. After moving away, Lamarsha entered a relationship with a man who is now the father of her child. She recalled that he became concerned after noticing persistent contact from Miguel, encouraging her to return to the house. When she did not go, Miguel resorted to threats, and her partner found out about them.

Lamarsha claimed that after her partner confronted Miguel through messages, matters escalated, and Miguel posted a sexual video involving her in what she described as an attempt to shame her. She said the clip circulated throughout the community, and residents reportedly recognised Miguel’s voice, prompting him to flee the area.
She also alleged that after Miguel was forced to leave the area, he and her aunt instigated altercations with her and her family out of anger. Lamarsha said the couple even stoned her at one point. She said Rosealee did not know what was happening until she also saw the video and reacted with shock and disgust. Rosealee reportedly accompanied her to make a report to police, and officers seized a phone as evidence, arranged medical examinations, and visited Miguel’s home as part of the investigation.
Reflecting on the impact, Lamarsha said she faced bullying at school and contemplated suicide before she eventually dropped out of school. Despite the challenges, she emphasised that the experience has strengthened her outlook and that she remains hopeful about returning to school and improving her future.
