A pregnant woman nearly drowned in a swimming pool after a man, alleged to be her husband, hauled her in during a confrontation at a resort. Circulating reports say the troubling incident reportedly stemmed from cheating allegations that led to paternity doubt.
The incident occurred when the couple was staying at a luxury hotel after just getting married. Rather than having a romantic honeymoon, witnesses said they were quarrelling at the poolside on Sunday evening. Guests who overheard the exchange said the man suddenly began accusing his wife of cheating.
He also reportedly questioned whether he was actually the father of the unborn baby or someone else. It is understood that she is several months pregnant. The altercation escalated into a near-drowning incident, which was all captured on the hotel’s surveillance camera.
In the video, the wife, who has a big bulging belly, is sitting a few feet from the pool. Her husband is standing directly in front of her. Within seconds, he grabs her by the hair and drags her to the pool. She wrestles to break free and ends up falling to the ground, but he continues to haul her. Eventually, they both fall into the water.
When they resurface, a struggle ensues during which he seemingly tries to push her head under the water. She continues to resist until he releases her, and the argument appears to continue in the pool.
According to a report, witnesses said the man was still shouting accusations when he dragged her into the water and tried to force her under. However, some witnesses were not quite sure what was taking place. Some people thought they were playing in the water before realising that she was struggling.
The ordeal left her shaken, and she had a little difficulty catching her breath. While she did not appear to sustain serious injuries, emergency services transported her to a local hospital, where doctors checked both her and the baby.
Police were also called to the hotel, and the husband was apprehended. Before they arrived, he was detained by hotel security. During that time, he angrily shared that he allegedly found messages in his wife’s phone that he claimed proved she was involved with another man before they got married.
Law enforcement officials are now reviewing the circumstances surrounding the incident, and the man could face charges as the investigation continues.
