Dancehall veteran Sean Paul has earned his fifth gold certification in France for a single after the 2019 hit song Boasty was certified gold last week. The infectious track by British rapper Wiley also features prominent London-based rapper Stefflon Don, as well as actor and musician Idris Elba.
The song earned gold certification from the Syndicat National de l’édition phonographique (National Syndicate of Phonographic Publishing, SNEP) after it surpassed the milestone of 100,000 units in sales and streams.
Boasty was produced by Toddla T & Mucky and released through the BMG record label. The upbeat song was a global hit, debuting on multiple charts. The song peaked on the Official UK Singles chart at No. 11 and No. 35 on the US Rhythmic Top 40 Airplay. The song also went to No. 82 in Ireland and No. 31 in Scotland.
Additionally, Boasty earned a platinum certification in the United Kingdom after hitting 600,000 units. In the past, Sean Paul acquired gold certification for his hit songs Get Busy (released in 2002), Hey DJ with CNCO and Meghan Trainor (released in 2018), Danny on Dangerous featuring Sofia Reyes (released in 2021), and Dynamite featuring Sia (released in 2021).
Stefflon Don has also previously earned a gold certification in France. Her collaboration with French Montana on the 2017 hit song Hurtin’ Me was certified gold.
