Dancehall veteran Macka Diamond lashed out at media personality Tu-Lox from Twins of Twins over remarks about her career. After previously facing similar comments, this latest criticism seems to have pushed Macka Diamond over the edge.
The comments stemmed from her November collaboration with TikToker Derrick Morgan, which many had initially ridiculed. Despite being labelled a ‘gimmick’ and drawing criticism, the collaboration What Can Go So became a trending song, accumulating 1.1 million views in six months on YouTube.
However, its fame was short-lived, which was a key point in Tu-Lox’s recent remarks. “Where is Macka Diamond now after she go carry fi har career go dash weh ova TikTok?” he asked. He stated that she jeopardised her career by collaborating with an alleged homosexual.
While acknowledging that her older songs were timeless classics, he said TikTok songs would negatively impact her older hits. According to Tu-Lox, TikTok users pushed Macka Diamond aside because the song was a flavour of the week track and not a timeless piece.
“TikTok doesn’t add to your career; it demish whatever relevance you did have out inna di real world,” he continued, highlighting that the social media platform is more focused on gimmicks and short-lived trends. He also commented on what he sees as a decline in Sting’s reputation, particularly after social media personalities Queen Ladi Gangsta and A’mari turned it into a laughingstock, leading to intense backlash.
Macka Diamond was boiling with rage when she took to social media to give a fiery response to Tu-Lox’s recent remarks. In her Instagram video, she unleashed a barrage of curse words at Tu-Lox as she told him about his mother and ranted about him not having a career of his own or a hit song that could compete with hers.
The Bun Him artiste accused him of being a homosexual who also worked with other gay men, indicating that others had done what she did. Macka added that she could always offer sex for cash if she ever needed to and urged him not to be concerned about her life. The video was shared on Instagram with the caption, “Dutty boi you a look hype here it is take it.”
